With the formation of this section of Earth Flag we are declaring that the heart of the emerging global neighborhood can be “The Green Room”. This room, along with thousands of interconnected rooms accomplishing a vast array of peace projection, is the place where 90% of the decisions for the direction of this planet can be influenced as we reach toward her future. With your help this will be the place that peacefully and progressively influences 90% of the decisions made for this planet as we reach toward her future.

Our Mission

The Authentic Earth Flag was born into a world experiencing both the devastating hopelessness of a hated and cruel war and the hopefulness of an emerging Earth Consciousness movement. Inspired by the first published images of our planet from outer space, the Authentic Earth Flag became an icon for the people of Earth who were awakening to the fragility of their "spaceship".

Now, nearly forty years after its creation, and the birth of Earth Day for which it first proudly waved, the Authentic Earth Flag continues to be the standard under which a growing community of earth friendly citizens of all types can find a common home. Earth Flag embraces the numerous factions in the Earth Consciousness movement along with the many ways to press for Peace. Waving an Earth Flag provides the unifiying symbol that allows traction and support to people caring for the planet in an increasingly diverse landscape that now includes everything from feeding the poor in every corner of the world to stabilizing our climate against extinction level changes.

The mission of Earth Flag and its growing community is to reconcile factionalism wherever it detracts from the collective goal of improving life for all who inhabit the Earth, and all those who will inherit it in the future.

Greetings Earth Aware Ones!

Today we have solidified the conditions under which Robert M. Weir (noted peace activist, writer and speaker) will be joining forces with Earthflag.net to bring the world access to the official history of Earth Flag, Earth Day and John McConnell, the originator of Earth Flag and the founder of Earth Day.

For some time now there has been a debate as to which site is the endorsed site for bringing the Authentic Earth Flag to the citizens of Earth. We have created this blog to help everyone understand the past history of this awareness and its current status. For this we will be enlisting the help of dignitaries, historians, biographers, celebrities and many others who will be chiming in to help set the authority on this subject and ultimately submit a request to the UN for an official ruling on what day should be the official Earth Day.

Just as Peace Day is celebrated in the Fall on a specific day so we want to see Earth Day have an official day that will give strength and foundation to all "earth days" out there even if you choose to celebrate Earth Day every day of the year! Join us and our journey as we tell you the history and ongoing status of Earth Flag. Welcome!
